Tombstone Tuesday

This is the tombstone for my great-grandparents John Franklin and Emma Delphenia (Baldwin) Smith. It is located in Walnut Valley Cemetery, Barton Co., Kansas. The cemetery is located not far from the small town of Heizer which is not too far from Great Bend. John Franklin "Frank" was b. 9 Feb 1852 in Abingdon, Knox Co., Illinois, the son of John Mack "Maxie" and Nancy Ellen (Hickman) Smith. He d. 16 Nov 1923 in Great Bend, Barton Co., Kansas. He m. Emma Delphenia Baldwin, 19 Jan 1873 in Seymour, Wayne Co., Iowa. Emma was b. 26 Mar 1855 in Seymour, Wayne Co., Iowa, the daughter of William Alonzo and Clarissa Rebecca (Cook) Baldwin, Sr. She d. 20 Oct 1947 in Great Bend, Barton Co., Kansas. They had nine children: Etta Delphenia "Del", William Orvis "Will", Viola Anastasia, "Ola" Alvie Adolphus "Al", Franklin Phosent "Frank", Clara Ellen, John Orton "Ort", Ray Ross Sr., and Edna Mae.
